MINI LOVES DOGS, AND 9/10 DOGS LOVE MINI.

Our friends at MINI are just as paw-sitively passionate about pooches as we are. That’s why they’ve made it their mission to help the nation’s dogs travel happier — and they’ve teamed up with the incredible dog welfare charity, Dogs Trust, to get that mission on the move.

To understand how pups have been enjoying the back or boot of a MINI, they tapped the canine behaviour experts at Dogs Trust to figure out what makes dogs’ bums wiggle with excitement when it comes to cars. They developed a questionnaire and MINI surveyed 1000 drivers to determine if dogs love MINI as much as MINI loves dogs.

The results? 9/10 dogs do. It’s no wonder the MINI Clubman won News UK’s ‘Dog Friendly Car of the Year’ award in 2021! Here are three key things that make MINIs great cars for dogs — and for the humans behind the wheel too.

THERE’S SPACE TO STRETCH OUT.

Whether they’re clipped in the backseat, boot or in their favourite carrier, dogs need enough room to get comfy. MINIs can accommodate just about any breed, from sighthounds to spaniels, and everything in between. The MINI Clubman and MINI Countryman are the two biggest models, with surprisingly generous space to turn around, lie down and relax.

THEY COME WITH PAW-FECT ACCESSORIES.

MINI knows how essential it is to keep your pooch safe and comfortable on their travels. Their range of dog guards can be fitted to many of their models, and offer extra security. Helping to keep your pup safely in the boot, away from the driver – and from those snacks the kids are eating in the back seat too.

ENJOY EASY ACCESS, THANKS TO SPLIT REAR DOORS.

The MINI Clubman’s split rear doors will have your happy hound jumping for joy. Because of their unique split door design, dogs can hop in and out with total ease. And if you spec MINI’s Comfort Access option, a simple kick of your foot under the rear bumper opens the rear split doors. The perfect feature for when your hands are full!

For 60 years, MINI’s iconic go-kart feel and charm has won over drivers up and down the UK. And it turns out they get a paws of approval from canine critics as well! For more travel tips, expert advice and handy accessories, head to the MINI Dogs Hub
