Scottish Terrier Emergency Care Scheme (STECS) – Rehoming & Rescuing Scotties Since 1976
With over 1,000 members worldwide, STECS is the only registered UK canine rescue charity dedicated to the care and rehoming of Scottish Terriers in need. Since its founding, the charity has rehomed Scotties across the UK, including Northern Ireland, Shetland Isles and even France!
Beyond rehoming, STECS provides essential medical support to Scotties whose owners may struggle with costs, including medication assistance and financial help for rescue dogs unable to obtain pet insurance. Their support scheme also helps owners manage and understand Scottie-specific behaviours, ensuring dogs can thrive in their forever homes.
STECS is proud to have Lance Bombardier Ben Parkinson MBE as its patron. Widely recognised as one of the most severely injured soldiers to survive the Afghan conflict, Ben has raised over £1 million for military charities and continues to make a significant impact through his advocacy and charitable work.
