Honey

Mum: Debbie Simpson

Debbie rescued Honey, a mistreated 18-month-old pup from a puppy farm and brought her into her loving home. Honey brought joy to Debbie’s family after their Springer Spaniel passed, and helped their remaining dog Alfie recover from grief. Over the past year and a half, Alfie showed Honey the ropes of being a happy dog, and Honey blossomed into a healthy happy dog. Her story is a heartwarming testament to rescue and love.

Leila

Mum: Michelle Wood

A Shetland Sheepdog named Leia isn’t just your average canine companion. This intelligent and loving pup possesses an almost magical ability to heal. Michelle had a nasty accident in the snow and while lying on her back waiting for help all 3 of her dogs stayed close but Leia lay on her chest to keep her warm. Later Michelle had to undergo an amputation and with Leia by her side, Michelle was determined to walk again. Today they both attend hoopers! Leila has not only supported Michelle to walk but also to regain her mental health!  “Without her I’d have given in to depression and despair but there she is making me cuddle and laugh every day. Because of Leia I’m getting back to living a life, I can’t believe I’m lucky enough to own the best dog ever.”

Later, during another breakdown, Brodie joined the family. Jethro trained Brodie to be an emotional support animal, and she now helps Michelle manage her fibromyalgia, ME, and diabetes. Paddington

Mum: Kirsten Adam

Meet Paddington, Kirsten’s incredibly brave dog. Last July, a tumor larger than his heart was discovered in his chest. After successful surgery and many weeks of recovery, Paddington now attends monthly hydrotherapy sessions to rebuild his muscles. Nearly a year later, this 10-year-old acts like a lively 2-year-old puppy. Paddington faced every challenge head-on and still loves visiting the vet. His resilience and zest for life continue to inspire and amaze everyone around him.

Patch

Mum: Laura Paramore

Meet Patch, the ultimate pup born blind with a grade 3 heart murmur and epilepsy. Despite these challenges, he lives life to the fullest. He’s a true survivor and an inspiration to all who meet him.

Nika

Dad: Adi Stone

Nika, a husky-malamute mix nearing eight years old, brought sunshine back into Adi’s life. After grappling with the loss of his wife of 34 years, a neighbour’s suggestion to get a dog sparked a glimmer of hope. As fate would have it, Nika’s picture popped up on the RSPCA Facebook page within a week. A visit to the shelter sealed the deal and within three days, Nika was settling into her new home. It was an uncanny moment that solidified their bond – on arriving at her new home for the first time Nika leaped out of the van and made a beeline straight for Adi’s door. It was undeniably meant to be. Nika’s playful spirit and unwavering companionship became a beacon of healing for Adi, reminding him that love and joy can bloom again.
